problem with Windows version 1.7.1
« on: February 12, 2010, 14:09:50 »
Hi all,
I usually use Sonic visualizer in linux but now would like to install it on a windows machine.

I have a problem with version 1.7.1 (running on Windows XP) When I launche the exe file the main windows appears but then the program crashes with the following message (it may not be 100% correct aws I translate from the Italian version of Windows):

the instruction at "0x6b5f4720" has referred memory at "0x6b5f4720". The memory could not be "read".

Press OK to terminate the application
Press Cancel to start debug

Any hint? Anyone experienced this.. Sorry I can't give better information.

All the best,
Lorenzo

Sorry to take so long to respond here.  The newly released 1.7.2 has a fix specifically aimed at a not always reproduceable crash on startup on Windows -- it may be worth giving this a try!

Dear Chris,

Unfortunately v. 1.72 also seems to still crash on this machine. The error message is the same as the original one. Let me know if I can provide any useful information.

Lorenzo.
PS: It took a while to respond as I was sure I had notifications for the post turned on but I seemed to miss it or something went wrong.
