Unable to install Sonic Visualiser in Ubuntu 9.04

(1/1)

eha1990:
I have been attempting to install sonic-visualiser_1.5cc-1_i386.deb in Ubuntu 9.04 i386.  The install fails because of a missing dependency error for libxcb-xlib0.  Below is the result from my attempt to install the software package.

$ sudo gdebi sonic-visualiser_1.5cc-1_i386.deb

Dependency is not satisfiable: libxcb-xlib0

How can this dependency problem be resolved in order to install the software package?  I even located informatoin about the missing software package on launchpad at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/i386/libxcb-xlib0/1.1-1ubuntu1.  I downloaded and attempted to install libxcb-xlib0_1.1-1ubuntu1_i386.deb, but that fails too.  Below is the error output from my attempt to install libxcb-xlib0_1.1-1ubuntu1_i386.deb.

cannam:
I've updated the Sonic Visualiser download page with links to newly built .deb packages (1.5cc-2) that I believe should install on both Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04.

Note that the software build is unchanged, so if you have a 1.5cc-1 deb installed successfully already, there is no reason to upgrade it.
