Analysis of sound with SV

Greetings
I'd like to do some in depth analysis of waveforms with
Sonic Visualiser
.
Assuming all I have is the core waveform - say from a synthesizer, what plugins do you recommend in order to be able to deconstruct the sound?
I'm looking at reverse engineering a few sounds to discover how the sound was constructed, and what filters were used. Of course I'm looking at stuff made from core generated components like PWM, Sawtooth, Sine, Square and Noise.
The waveforms I have are not affected by any effects or external processing.
Any ideas?
Thank you
